One of Tata Motors’ most anticipated launches of the year, the all-new Tata Sierra, is set to make its official debut in India on November 25.
The SUV marks the return of an iconic nameplate nearly five years after Tata first previewed it as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The model later evolved through the Sierra EV Concept (2023) and the near-production version unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.

The production-spec Sierra is expected to stay true to the design and proportions of the near-production model, with the ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV versions featuring distinct styling cues. While the ICE variant will sport a black-finished front grille, the electric model will feature a body-coloured, enclosed design that reflects its zero-emission identity.
The new Sierra retains several design elements reminiscent of the original SUV, including its signature glasshouse silhouette. Both ends feature connected LED light bars, while the profile gets flush door handles, a large rear spoiler, and multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the Sierra is expected to be tech-forward and premium, offering up to three digital displays across the dashboard — including a dedicated passenger screen on higher variants. The SUV will also share technology with Tata’s newer models, offering Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, and a suite of connected features.
The model is likely to be available in four- and five-seater configurations, with the four-seater variant featuring a lounge-like rear layout, as showcased in earlier teasers.

Underneath, the ICE Sierra is expected to debut Tata’s new 1.5-litre ‘Hyperion’ turbo-petrol engine, alongside the proven 2.0-litre turbo-diesel used in the Harrier and Safari.
On the other hand, the eelectric version is likely to share its powertrain setup with the Tata Harrier EV. Tata had initially planned to launch the electric Sierra first, but the company has since decided to introduce the ICE variants ahead of the EV.
When launched, the Sierra will compete in the compact SUV segment, taking on popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra 3XO and the upcoming new Renault Duster.
